Introduction to FMLA and FMLA Outsourcing

This course reviews the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), including legal considerations for employers and the risk of non-compliance. Included are administrative options and employer challenges with FMLA programs, as well as the link between FMLA and Short Term Disability programs and the potential return on investment for administering and managing FMLA with Short Term disability in a single administrative platform. Actual case studies and sample leave requests will be discussed. We will also discuss how to most effectively engage an employer in understanding the challenges they face and the value of development of a more structured FMLA administration program.
